De serie ‘Mute’ toont mensen die iets beleven dat ze overmand. Een moment dat zo intens is dat ze op emotioneel niveau bijna de controle verliezen. Het moment waarop lachen huilen kan worden, of andersom. Mute richt zich op de sublieme ervaring en onderzoekt de ambiguïteit van het lezen van een gezicht.

Mute addresses the experience of the sublime – both terrifying and ecstatic – and the ambiguity of the resulting facial expression. How big is the disparity between happiness and terror? What does this say when applied to our self-image and the era in which we live?
